Todd A. Miller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Since coming to GW in 2005, Dr. Miller's primary research focus has been on the emerging role that interactive videogaming can play in increasing Americans' physical activity levels. His past funding includes a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to investigate novel gaming technologies, and how those technologies can be incorporated into school physical education programs in Washington, DC.   As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator, USA Level 1 weightlifting coach, Fellow of the National Strength & Conditioning Association, and leader in the field of strength and conditioning, Dr. Miller brings a tremendous amount of practical experience to his research in Exercise Science. Dr. Miller is responsible for the development of the Master of Science concentration in Strength and Conditioning at GW, and currently serves as program director. He is also the department's Director of Graduate Studies.  A five-time winner of GW's Excellence in Teaching Award, Dr. Miller's teaching has been very much shaped by his curiosity and enthusiasm for new avenues of inquiry. "I try to point out the most interesting and unique areas of our field to students, in the hope that they too will discover a lifelong passion they want to pursue," he says.
